Un inganno tira l’altro
Installation: Video, photographs, plant remnants, and sound sculpture. 2019.
The project emerges from a site-specific investigation in the small village of San Romano di Mercato Saraceno (Cesena, Italy) and explores the relationships—whether real or projected—between three seemingly disconnected elements: three abandoned billboards, seven mysterious circles that appeared in an alfalfa field, and a number of homemade devices made from plastic bottles, used in local vegetable gardens to deter moles.
The project thus proposes an experience that shifts the habitual perception of the surroundings and activates a sensitive reading of the territory, where obsolete infrastructures, unexplained phenomena, and domestic solutions become devices through which to contemplate the construction of collective imaginaries, both human and non-human.
