That light between the mountains

There is a link between a photograph of an alleged UFO taken in Mallorca in 1979 and the Miracle of the Sun, a solar phenomenon popularly attributed to the apparitions of the Virgin Mary since the early twentieth century. With the support of scientific and artistic research, these two specific cases are examined as phenomena of visual anomaly occurring both in photographic devices and in the human visual system.

Through an installation, videos, and photographs, the work reflects on the imaginaries that these events generated at the time and considers how subjective experience enables the construction of mythologies in which science, spirituality, and history intersect. The exhibition thus proposes understanding the anomalous image as a space of symbolic construction, while also recognizing its potential to express transcendental experiences that are difficult to share within society.
